Inner Planning Circle formed
We have now formed an Inner Planning Circle. I had previously referred to this group as an "Inner Planning Group", but members are preferring the term "circle" which embraces more the aspect of equitable participation around the circle in decision making.
The Inner Planning Circle is the group responsible for the overall practical management and coordination of the Compassion Response Network. It will make policy decisions, and decisions of financial management, and will be responsible for the development of new projects of compassionate response to humanity's need, and coordination and networking of men and women of goodwill, inviting them to participate in these projects according to their talents and areas of interest.
Four members have now volunteered to be the founding members of the Inner Planning Circle. They are Marielle Jansen of Holland (presently resident in Australia), David Keane of Australia, Albert Mananga of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and John Buck of USA. Over the next few months, and until more long-term appointments have been arranged, David Keane has been appointed as contact person for the Compassion Response Network.
We will be convening our meetings over email, using the system of organisation and governance called sociocracy. More will be discussed about this method later on. Suffice to say that it is a highly creative and effective way of engaging all members within a circle in the decision making process.
The workload of the inner planning circle will be immense. One of the central principles of the Compassion Response Network is that all policy decisions must be made on a group basis. As none of us live in the same city, and our principal means of communication is through email, this introduces some very challenging difficulties to be resolved for holding meetings.
One of the early matters to be discussed will be the urgency of becoming legally registered as an association, and possibly also as a charitable organisation. Also there are matters relating to the adoption of group financial responsibilities, and of adopting compassion projects inherited from the former East West Network. Then the Inner Planning Circle must discuss its general objectives, and how it will implement these objectives through new projects of compassion, and how it can invite ever expanding participation in such projects by men and women of goodwill.
We are attempting to proceed with all these matters with due care and reflective consideration, yet also with a recognition of the urgency of the world situation. The vision for the Compassion Response Network has been presented on the healing website. We have received numerous expressions of support for this vision, and expressions of interest in serving in various ways. It will now be the role of the Inner Planning Circle to consider as a group these various offers of assistance, and to work out opportunities for participation and coordination within present and future projects. We are working steadily through an agenda of action. These things will take a little time to organise, and we will share with you how they develop in these circulars. I request from our readers a little patience. We envisage a network in which all men and women of goodwill will be able to contribute each in their own way and according to their personal choices, but coordinating such a vast undertaking will take time and must be developed step by step.
Four Levels of Service
There will be four levels of service within the Compassion Response Network. Any server may serve on one or several of these levels simultaneously, according to his/her choice. We each choose our own part to play in the One Work.
One part is not more important than another part, for it is the integrated group activity that is the important thing, each contributing as they are able, to the whole. The subjective work and objective work must blend and fuse into one spiritual undertaking, but the work upon the outer field of practical service must ever begin with the subjective or esoteric. We must begin with the spiritual purpose or vision, and from there the work manifests outwardly. The task is to extend that manifestation outwardly, until such time that there arises a practical and compassionate response to heal the cries for help from suffering humanity.
The four levels of service are as follows;
The Esoteric Circle
The word "esoteric" has in the past been associated with that which is perceived to be remote and secret. But in today's world, the visions and ideals of the past must become manifested in practice through integrated service activity, and so remoteness must give way to interconnectedness and that which was deemed to be secret must give way to openness.
The truth is that esoteric activity is a natural and essential aspect of all goodwill networking. All truly creative work can be traced back to an esoteric group that anchors the vision for that group work and infuses the group with a sense of direction. The esoteric is the point from which all outer activity begins, and without an esoteric group cultivating intensity of purpose and a depth of love demonstrating in practice, all activity upon the outer will in time become uncoordinated and without clear direction, and so will dissipate its energies and become ineffective.
The esoteric circle discerns, holds and nurtures the vision for the Compassion Response Network. That vision is ever evolving, as is all of life. The vision is inspired through higher Purpose as it is impressed upon humanity from our spiritual Guardians in the realms of spirit.
The role of the esoteric circle is to tune into that sense of higher Purpose and to translate it into a dynamic vision to be shared throughout the network. This is a stepping down process, and can only be achieved through group activity, when all personality attachments and considerations are set aside. The esoteric circle uses a meditation of synthesis to identify with the flow of energies within the whole. It is only from that sense of unity and synthesis, that we can approach this higher understanding. This is a truth embraced within all world religions. For example in the Bible, Jesus has said, in John 17:22-23,
"And the glory which thou hast given me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one."
And as we explore all the major religions, we will find this same central truth presented in different words.
The esoteric circle also uses a meditation of synthesis to identify with a portion of suffering humanity as they cry out for help. For example we have identified with the millions in Africa with AIDS. We are one with them. We know and feel intimately their despair and pain and sorrow, yet also their dreams and joys and blessings. We sacrifice our life for them, as does a mother for a child. From this point of identification, we visualise the great Love of God as it overshadows humanity, and we invoke a compassionate response towards those of us amongst humanity who are suffering. And knowing of God's great compassion, we feel the warm and powerful flow of energy streaming through us, ever reaching out to those in need. This energy the esoteric circle must then learn to direct with total absence of personality attachment, so that the Divine Plan might become manifest upon Earth.
The divine Plan ever calls for a restoring of right human relations, so that an ever widening circle of world servers become the hands and feet in implementing this vision of love and harmony among men. So it is also that the esoteric circle uses a meditation of synthesis to attune on soul levels to all within the expanding network of contacts, so that they might discern how each might contribute creatively in the One Work.
The esoteric circle meditates upon the flow of energies, throughout the network. Wherever there is a gap or blockage, the esoteric circle then meditates upon what needs to be done to restore the true energy flow. Their work is the subjective counterpart of the plumber who restores water flows.
The esoteric circle has another function also. They must blend and fuse this subjective activity with outer service activity, so that inner and outer activity integrates into one spiritual undertaking. Members of the esoteric circle must therefore live out the inner vision through their own practical service activity. They must learn to demonstrate the energy of compassionate response through their own service life, for otherwise it will not become anchored upon the physical.
And so it is that the time has come when the dreams of our forefathers must now be made manifest in the outer world through practical action of compassionate response to need.
The vision held so lovingly by the esoteric circle, then is shared with the inner planning circle, which makes practical policy and management decisions to start the process of manifestation of that vision. The inner planning circle then networks and communicates with men and women of goodwill, sharing with them their opportunity for service. The men and women of goodwill then implement that vision through acts of compassionate service to an invocative humanity.
In this circular I have described the role of the esoteric circle. In future circulars, I will trace the flow of the energies of manifestation, as they embrace first the members of the inner planning circle, then the men and women of goodwill, then compassionate acts of service in the field.
The work ever manifests from the subjective outwards. The inner planning circle is at present considering how to initiate and coordinate the vast tasks involved with global networking for such an immense vision.
Horoscope for the Compassion Response Network
A human horoscope reflects the moment of intake by the new born baby of its first breath. At that moment the energy of spirit vibrantly infuses the personality vehicles of the new-born, anchoring in crystallised form those spiritual and energetic impressions that will permanently establish the inner rhythms and cycles for the future life.
Groups, organisations and networks also have individual horoscopes, reflecting the moment of consolidation of the group purpose within the broader community. With the Compassion Response Network, its moment of birth was 11.15pm Perth time, 25/November/2001, when with a single click of the email "send" button, the vision statement of the Compassion Response Network was globally distributed from Perth, and an invitation was sent forth for all men and women of goodwill to join our network.
The moment of release of this globally disseminated email was the consequence of group circumstances beyond our planning. Indeed the launch date had been planned at various times for May, June, September and early October. But the actual moment of release is the significant thing, for then the global network began to consolidate around its true purpose.
The most significant aspect of this horoscope is a Saturn (14° 15' Gemini)/ Pluto (13° 35' Sagittarius) opposition. Thus that which is anchored powerfully through humanity's karma and inertia, is brought into direct opposition to the unfolding spiritual purpose. This point of tension would normally be so overwhelming that it would be easy to become despairing at the enormity of the struggle to change things for the better. But the horoscope also includes a very powerful Grand Trine relationship; Saturn (14° 15' Gemini), Uranus (20° 55') and Moon (18° 39') conjunct in Aquarius, Mercury (14° 49') and Venus (12° 36') conjunct in Libra. This Grand Trine is in the element of air, reflecting freedom of thought, thus enabling clear understanding of vision and facility in visualising the transformative process.
The Sun is square Mars/Neptune. Jupiter is square Mercury/Venus and opposes the Moon/Uranus. Chiron quintiles Mercury/Venus. There is a lot of tension yet also a lot of expansive energy here, indicating a time in history when there is great opportunity to transform the most entrenched of obstacles that obstruct the outer manifestation of the Plan of peace and harmony on Earth. In all a most interesting horoscope for those who might like to ponder the deeper significance of such things.
Future Compassion Response Network circulars will be released whenever enough news sufficiently interesting to share is gathered. The next issue may be out in about a fortnight. By then the Inner Planning Circle will have made some of its decisions about how it is going to proceed towards taking practical steps towards implementing the vision, and engaging men and women of goodwill in the vast challenges that lie before us.
Yours in Love and Light,
David Keane
