VISION, MISSION AND OBJECTIVES

VISION

The Vision of the Compassion Response Network is:

"The only way to guarantee a future of peace and progress for the whole human race is for enough men and women of goodwill to accept responsibility for the establishing of right relations, and to work actively with the principles of unity and goodwill."

MISSION STATEMENT

The Mission Statement and Main Objective for the Compassion Response Network is:

"To facilitate the emergence of a goodwill network in which the hands of men and women of goodwill are strengthened so that they become enabled to directly provide a meaningful compassionate response to the most urgent needs of humanity."

OTHER OBJECTIVES

The Other Objectives of the Compassion Response Network are,

Compassion Objectives

    1. To adopt projects of compassion in response to the invocative call of men and women of goodwill appealing on behalf of humanity in urgent need.
    2. To identify with the millions in the world with AIDS and facilitate a compassionate response through direct action until their suffering is transmuted to hope. To facilitate AIDS treatment and testing projects of sufficient scientific-medical quality to attract the interest and commitment of major aid and charitable groups. To co-operate with major aid and charitable groups to provide effective long-term responses to the AIDS pandemic.
    3. To facilitate the provision of free health care for basic health needs for the poorest of the poor.
    4. To develop the emergence of a group agenda for financing a global education in the spiritual essential teachings.
    5. To facilitate the emergence of people's participation movements.
    6. To facilitate development of compassion response centres, in which service groups act as focal points for inviting men and women of goodwill to join together in common group endeavour to engage in projects of compassionate response to human need.
    7. General Objectives

    8. To strengthen communication links and networks between servers for goodwill and global unity around the world.
    9. To encourage men and women everywhere to affirm the principles of goodwill and global synthesis, and to link together in regular meditation for world unity and synthesis; to be a meeting place for all races, religions and world views of all people who choose to build the new world civilisation on principles of goodwill, global unity and group participation.
    10. To facilitate group activity by which the vision for solution of humanity's problems can become anchored upon Earth in practice. This will require working in common endeavour under the Law of Inclusiveness and identifying with the many in need through using a Meditation of Synthesis. Thus the group helps construct the Rainbow Bridge or continuous energy channel connecting God's will with a direct physical response to humanity in need.
    11. To facilitate the union of esoteric and exoteric workers in the one spiritual undertaking, starting with the esoteric work and building the organisational aspect of practical goodwill activity on Earth. To develop projects of compassionate response, from a point of genesis as inspired through an intuitive understanding of God's Plan, through to a point of manifestation, thus demonstrating the Science of Manifestation.
    12. To create and maintain a global organisational structure to facilitate direct compassionate response to human suffering in general.
    13. To develop the Science of Sociocracy which provides a methodology for organisational management and for empowering people to participate in the decisions that affect their lives. (Sociocracy was founded through the pioneering work of Gerard Endenburg and is globally co-ordinated through the Sociocratisch Centrum Nederland.) To integrate Esoteric Science with the Science of Sociocracy and to unite the two in one spiritual undertaking. To integrate the methodology of Sociocracy into a global organisation to provide a compassionate response to human suffering.
    14. To link with and co-operate with other organisations that also provide compassionate and goodwill responses to humanity's most urgent needs. To provide an information service concerning the activities of men and women of goodwill all over the world.
    15. To publish and distribute such material which educates about the values of goodwill, world unity, group service, meditation, and compassionate response to need. To facilitate the free provision of such educational material to those who would not normally have access to such educational material.

ABOUT THE VISION

"The only way to guarantee a future of peace and progress for the whole human race is for enough men and women of goodwill to accept responsibility for the establishing of right relations, and to work actively with the principles of unity and goodwill."

This quotation is in fact the central paragraph in the "Affirmation of Goodwill", found in the Alice Bailey literature and used widely in the Goodwill Movement. Let us therefore consider the full text for the Affirmation of Goodwill.

AFFIRMATION OF GOODWILL

" We, the people of goodwill, convinced:

Recognising that:

Affirm out intention:

This Affirmation of Goodwill belongs to all humanity, and Compassion Response Network offers itself as an organisation through which men and women of goodwill can anchor this affirmation into reality through projects of compassion. Our organisation is open for all who love humanity to participate.

Compassion Response Network identifies subjectively with the Goodwill Movement, though formally and legally we are a separate entity. We build upon the foundations provided for us through the Goodwill Movement.

We wish therefore to acknowledge the foundational work of Lucis Trust and World Goodwill which have done such fine work in disseminating the Affirmation of Goodwill. World Goodwill and Lucis Trust may be contacted at:

World Goodwill is an educational organisation that distributes an excellent quarterly newsletter, and provides information about many goodwill subjects. It is associated with the Arcane School that provides esoteric training.

ABOUT THE MISSION STATEMENT

"To facilitate the emergence of a goodwill network in which the hands of men and women of goodwill are strengthened so that they become enabled to directly provide a meaningful compassionate response to the most urgent needs of humanity."

Identification with those of humanity in true need is the fiery principle guiding our work. Compassionate response to need is the flaming arrow directing the creative work for our projects of compassion.

The purpose of compassionate response to need reflects a covenant between God and His people humanity. That purpose is to us self-evident and pure and as a written covenant that cannot be compromised.

The true network is subjective and is hidden in the hearts of each one of us. Servers within Compassion Response Network can only facilitate its objective emergence, or birth, just as many other centres of light are also in their own way facilitating the objective emergence of this network.

The Compassion Response Network links a meditation of synthesis and Sociocracy together in the one spiritual undertaking. It provides an organisational base in which members can invoke a pathway for higher purpose to manifest upon Earth through intelligent service activity.

The Compassion Response Network is developing a pathway by which disciples and men and women of goodwill can unite together "in one spiritual undertaking", so that theory for the solution of humanity's many problems is gradually turned into practical reality, and the word "united" comes to have a true significance and meaning.

ABOUT THE OTHER OBJECTIVES

The Main Objective for Compassion Response Network is our Mission Statement. All other objectives are facets of the Mission Statement. These other objectives may be divided into two groups,

Compassion Objectives summarise broadly the types of compassion projects we have adopted and hope in future to adopt. Such projects are determined by two main factors, the intensity or degree of human need in the world, and the willingness of men and women of goodwill to respond to that need. We limit our projects to what is objectively possible to manifest at any particular time. At the moment we are focussing on the areas of a compassionate response to the AIDS pandemic, and providing free healing treatment to the poor, and we adopt projects according to priorities and our available resources. It is important to follow through projects to completion, and so we must be selective with how much we can do at any given time.

General Objectives provide the general rules for our selection and development of projects. We are primarily a networking organisation, linking men and women of goodwill, and facilitating creative activity that provides a compassionate response to some of humanity's most urgent and acute needs. We affirm the principles of goodwill and world unity. We seek to unite esoteric and exoteric activity service work within the one spiritual undertaking. For all creative work upon the outer must begin with the esoteric or subjective work. We trust in divine providence, and so we seek to facilitate the linking of men and women of goodwill in common endeavour to anchor God's Plan upon Earth. We seek to integrate esoteric science with the science of Sociocracy, which provides a methodology for organisational management and for empowering people to participate in the decisions that affect their lives. In this way the ideals for solution to some of humanity's problems gain a pathway for turning those ideals into reality.

As we develop and expand, we will become engaged in a practical way with other projects in response to the many diverse needs of humanity. Some of these will also be in the health field, but some will be educational, social, cultural or other fields, according to the choices of group members.
